Felon: One Of The Best Prison Movies

Felon stars Stephen Dorff as Wade Porter, Val Kilmer as John Smith, Harold Perrineau (he played in the Prison series Oz) as Lieutenant Jackson, Marisol Nichols as Wade Porter's fiancee Laura, Anne Archer as Laura's mother, and your usual list of ruffians that go in a prison movie.

Wade and Laura wake up one night and find that they have an intruder in their home. It happened fast: Wade tracks the burglar outside with a baseball bat, the burglar reaches for something (maybe a weapon) and Wade hits him in the head with the baseball bat and kills him. Wade finds out that the burglar didn't have a weapon on him, since Wade killed him outside of his home, he is charged with murder. Wade has to do prison time.

Porter arrives in prison, a dark world where it is survival of the fittest. There are gangs everywhere and you learn to trust nobody. Wade finds out that the whole prison is corrupted by the prison guards, where they place bets on yard fights.

Wade befriends his new cell mate, John Smith, who the other prisoners leave alone. Smith teaches Porter how to survive in prison.

This is one powerful movie and performances by the actors are very outstanding. An instant classic!

Event Horizon: Sci-Fi Horror At Its Best

"Liberate me, ex infernis..." The message the rescue crew from Lewis and Clark made out from the Event Horizon when the went deeper into the ship. Ahh yes, Event Horizon is horror and sci-fi combined together, which for this movie was very effective and very horrifying. The plot and the story line is awesome. Let's begin!

The Event Horizon has taken a mission beyond the solar system using gravity drive (it makes you travel faster than the speed of light created by one Professor Weir). Well the gravity drive makes black holes to travel through and somewhere along the line the Event Horizon went through a black hole and it is lost for 7 years. Then it comes back after being gone for 7 years, where has been for all this time? This ship was somewhere, way out there beyond the boundries of the known universe. The rescue crew arrives and boards the Event Horizon only to find that there is no sign of the crew and they find that the ship does have life, life you cannot see and that is very evil.

This movie is very graphic and is somewhat disturbing. A must see movie for the sci-fi or horror fanatic.

Underrated Coming Of Age Movie: Three O'clock High

"It looks like it's going to be one of those days." Says Jerry Mitchell, your average 1980's nerd. Today is going to be one of those days when you find your car has a flat tire, you're late for school, your cash register won't open, and you meet a school bully.

Three O'clock High is your classic 1980's high school movie, showing the big hair, colorful clothing, and soundtrack by Tangerine Dream. The movie takes us to the day where Jerry Mitchell (nerd) meets high school bully Buddy Revell.

Throughout this film, Jerry goes to one crazy situation to the next. One of the best scenes of this movie is where Jerry lights up a Marlboro cigarette in his English Class and makes out with his teacher. This film also has one of the best school yard fights you will ever witness.

This is a very classic 80's film that never got any credit. This movie is fall down funny and a must see (remember when a sheet of paper cost a quarter from the bookstore?ahhh, memories)

The Killing of John Lennon from Mark Chapman’s Point Of View

The Killing of John Lennon on DVD is a fact based drama based on the point of view of John Lennon’s murderer Mark Chapman. You are personally invited to share in the thoughts of a self-obsessed maniac. All the words and thoughts come from Chapman himself taken from his diaries and interviews about the killing: no writer’s interference.

The two times that Chapman has met Lennon was: once to ask for an autograph and the second time...well we all know about the second time which takes place several hours later. Of course, anybody who has ever heard about this (who hasn’t) knows what the ending is like, but the movie builds suspense by reminding how many days, hours, and minutes are left before the killing. You will go through every twist and turn in Chapman’s mind and know that nothing could save John Lennon from this man. You will not see any sorrow because this movie is based off of Chapman’s side of the story.

The man who plays Chapman played Napoleon Dynamite (Jonas Ball), he did a great job portraying this man. The film is very, very well made.

PULP FICTION

Not many directors are well known.Even then those directors don't have an easily recognizable style.Quentin Tarantino does.It has been fourteen years since he shocked film goers with Pulp Fiction.Since then he has relesed Kill Bill(one and two)and Jackie Brown.I personally think his best work along with Pulp Fiction is Reservoir Dogs and From Dusk til Dawn.Pulp Fiction is the story of the darker side of LA.Drug dealers, hitmen and an aging boxer will all cross paths.Samuel Jackson made it big in this movie as the gun wielding, reborn christian who decides to change his ways.John Travolta shined in this movie.Bruce Willis does not have a huge role but he is great also as the boxer who is supposed to take the fall. But he just can't do it.He has to prove to himself that he is the better boxer and he does by killing the other boxer.

Now the chronology of the film is all mixed up.But watching the middle in the beginning and the end in the start is what makes the film even better.Pulp fiction is not for the faint of heart. But if you can handle it,it is worth watching over and over.

Stargate - Continuum Review

StarGate-The Ark Of Truth , was lacking because it was missing some charactors, mainly Jack! The entire moviefelt like it was just episodes thrown together into one long movie, sorta like a two to three part episode, you know how that feels, LONG. Well, have no fear, in StarGate-Continuum Jack is back! He plays not one role...but two different roles. This movie is bigger and better than The Ark Of Truth and pulls out all the stops, and keeps all the elements of why you SG in place. So on to the review already!

StarGate-Continuum brings back all the charactors we know and love from all around the Galaxy. They come together to witness the execution of of the last Ba'al clones, seeing the end to the System Lords. But wait! Ba'al has a trick up his sleeve and this is where the plot thickens and the fun begins. Our Stargate Heros need to come together and save the day.

So, if you're a Stargate SG1 fan you will really love this movie and find that it ends way too soon for you. The story line is excellent, they out did themselves with great special effects, and it is action packed with more blood and the swearing (if you're into that kinda thing).
